USY is USCJ’s youth movement for Conservative Jewish teens across North America. For more than 60 years, USY has taught young Jews the values and skills they need to become exceptional leaders in their religious and secular communities.
Temple Israel is affiliated with the southeastern region, HaNegev, of United Synagogue Youth, allowing our USYers and Kadimaniks to join in activities with other teenagers from the Southeast.
All local events are programmed through our teen-led Ir HaMalka USY Executive Board. Past programs include trips to Carowinds, movie nights, outdoor laser tag with Greensboro USY, and conventions!
Due to the generous support of the Stuart Ostrow Youth Fund, Youth Group Membership is FREE for all 3rd-5th grade students registered in the Temple Israel Religious School. For all other students, either not enrolled in TIRS or 8th-12th grades, there is ONLY a $36 annual fee per student. Future youth events may include additional fees.
College Outreach Program (TICO, TICC)
At Temple Israel, Jewish connections do not end when you go off to college. The College Outreach program helps students stay in touch with Temple Israel and with the Jewish community once they are out on their own. The program provides college students with four care packages to each student during the school year for Rosh Hashanah, Hanukah, Purim, and an end-of-year finals boost.
