Michael Wolk

Senior Rabbi

Rabbi Michael Wolk is a native of Plainview, NY where his family was deeply involved in Jewish and synagogue life.  He studied at Columbia University and the Jewish Theological Seminary (JTS) before his 2012 ordination from JTS.  Upon graduation, Rabbi Wolk served a community in Louisville, KY for eight years.  It was there that he met his wife Heidi and their two daughters were born.  Rabbi Wolk and his family moved to Charlotte in 2020 when he assumed the position of Senior Rabbi of Temple Israel.  Rabbi Wolk enjoys teaching to congregants of all ages and is especially proud of the Introduction to Judaism program.  He is an avid biker and jogger and is also a student and afficionado of chazzanus.
